A Place for Friends

As many of you know, I'm all about the party. I love getting together and hanging out with friends. These real parties, however, are unfortunately few and far between. As I was thinking about my friends and how hard it can be to get together I decided if we can't hang out in person maybe we can hang out online with a blog. So, I created this blog with the hopes that we will use it to keep each other updated on our lives, share information with each other and just talk about things.

There are a few ways you can hang out on the blog. One way is to just read the blog and make comments ono what other people have written. Another way is to be an author of the blog. They have a limit of 100 authors so I think that should cover things. You have to be invited to be an author so if let me know and I'll add you to the list.

Also, I want this blog to be open to anyone that could like to be involved so feel free to share the address with your friends. There's always room for one more. Well, at least there will be until we reach 100...

So, please, if you have anything you'd like to chat about this is the place to do it. I think we could have fun with this if we will all be open and supportive of one another. And no topic is off limits. If you want to talk about it so do I.

Love, Laura

Melanie,
I'm excited for you, I know you want to retire to Kanab. Do you have a picture you can post to the blog? Is Roger really retiring in only 5 years?

Lovely Laurie,
I know it's hard for you to share your opinions but perhaps in this risk free environment you can overcome this hangup.

If I can figure out how this thing works, I'd love to join in. I guess if you're reading this, it means I figured it out. My only news is that David has a free piano concert at the Piano Gallery on Friday night at 7:00 if anyone wants to come. There will be wine there, for those of you that are a bit lax on the Word of Wisdom. :) Oh, and also, I have a comment about the sugar-free thing. I have done it a few times for limited periods and have positive and negative experiences with it. The first couple of times I did it,I felt good and it was positive. But the last couple of times I have done it, it has backfired and I end up thinking about and craving treats constantly and when the set time is up, I end up binging on every chocolately, sugary, fatty food item I can find to make up for lost time! So I don't think I can commit to it right now. I have been doing the "every once in awhile is okay" plan and that seems to work better for me (when I stick to it). But, my sister-in-law, Amy, decided one day that she wanted a healthier lifestyle and gave up all treats. That was a year and a half ago and she hasn't had any sweets- not one cookie, not a brownie, not a piece of candy- NOTHING! So it can be done and she feels great. She just doesn't even crave any of that kind of stuff anymore. I think it gets easy once you get to a certain point(so I've heard). So more power to ya!

Good luck-
Lisa
